Gary gets into some financial trouble and resorts to borrowing money from Sam, a loan shark. Gary gets behind in his payments to Sam. Late one night, Gary is awakened by the telephone ringing. When he picks up, he hears a menacing voice say, "Pay up by next week or you're a dead man." The caller hangs up, leaving Gary extremely frightened, and the following day he is unable to leave his house. Intentional infliction of emotional distress?
