Intentional Torts (IIED): Question 1

Stan is Larry's boss. Larry has battled depression and suffers from low self-esteem (a problem with which Stan and Larry's co-workers are aware), and his job performance has suffered as a result. Unhappy with Larry's work product and work ethic, and fed up one day after Larry bumbles a major project for a major client (almost causing the firm to lose the client), Stan decides to fire Larry. He calls Larry into his office one day, asks Larry to close the door and sit down, and loudly berates Larry for ten minutes. Stan, sitting behind his desk, repeatedly calls Larry a "lazy, stupid, good-for-nothing, moron" who has never done anything right since being hired. He tells Larry to leave the office immediately, and that he will mail Larry's personal belongings from his office. Humiliated, Larry leaves the office. He can tell by the looks on his co-workers' faces that they could hear Stan yelling at him. Larry is so upset by the encounter that he is unable to begin looking for another job for almost a month, and goes into therapy to help rebuild his self-esteem. Intentional infliction of emotional distress?
