Intentional Torts (False Imprisonment): Question 6

Sally is driving in the middle lane of a busy, three-lane roadway, when she suddenly realizes she needs to turn right at the next intersection. She hastily moves into the right lane without signaling and without checking behind her, and cuts off Joe, who is forced to slam on his brakes to avoid colliding with Sally. Sally and Joe come to a stop at the intersection for a red light. Furious with Sally for her careless driving, Joe grabs a golf club out of the golf bag he is carrying, gets out of his car, walks to the front of Sally's car, and begins hitting the hood of Sally's car with the golf club while shouting, "Why don't you watch where you're going?! Someone should knock some sense into you!" Sally wants to get out of the car and run away, but is frightened that if she does, Jack will come after her and harm her or inflict more damage on her car in her absence. When the light turns green, she is unable to move her car through the intersection because Jack is still standing in front of it. False imprisonment?
